Hello and welcome to Market Fantasy!
You play to win the game. It’s that simple. Sure, a lot of people play to have fun or to compete, or because they love football. But at the end of the day, everyone wants to win. I just finished taking second place in a baseball for the third year in a row. It was terrible. I was beside myself. What do I have to do to win this (naughty word) league???!! (Another 37 naughty words in a row). I would much rather have won it. By a large margin. (The large margin being both how I would’ve wanted to win, and the distance between me wanting and me not wanting to win). The league is fun, and I’ve been in it for a long time now, but I really wanted to win. No one wants to be the Buffalo Bills of their fantasy league.
The easiest way to win a league is to have the best players. Or to have the best players and then trade them for a bunch of slightly lesser, but still very good players. Below is a position by position listing of who is currently dominating their respective positions. The chart shows the top (5QB, 10RB, 12WR, 5TE, 5 DST) performers and their points along with the percentage their points dominate the replacement level player at their position. The last player in each grid is the last player before replacement (represented by 0% over replacement). The only question becomes what to do with these guys? In the case of players like Joique Bell or Antonio Brown, maybe dangle them in front of the Reggie Bush or Andre Johnson owners. Or sit back and enjoy the profit you’re making.
Let me know what you plan to do in the comments. Thanks for reading!
