Hello and welcome to Market Fantasy!
After eight weeks, the football FOW is now up 1.8% on the
year. Week eight saw an increase of 1.0% over week 7 as a couple players posted
solid gains to boost their years. This week, leading the way have been Calvin
Johnson, Jordy Nelson, the Bengals Defense and Drew Brees. Calvin Johnson
absolutely dominated the Cowboys and put to rest any illusions Dez Bryant might
have had that he could match the mighty Megatron. The Bengals defense continues
to rebound nicely from a poor start, posting a 31.6% gain this week. Drafting
today, would you take any receiver second after Johnson than Jordy Nelson? How
about three running backs ahead of Matt Forte? Tough to argue both. Larry
Fitzgerald and Victor Cruz are players heading in opposite directions, I think.
Fitz is looking healthy and should be poised for a big second half while Cruz
is stuck on a bad team and has seen his stock decline for a couple weeks now.
If I could get someone to buy his hot start, I’d do it in a second.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more features!
